About

Maria Jacobs

Hi, I’m Maria – and I believe that information is everything. My work is to provide as much information as I possibly can, and help you achieve your goals with ease – be it selling or buying. With a background in law, and experience with marketing, customer service, and research, I provide real estate services with honesty, clear communication, and professionalism. Don’t hesitate to contact me, it would be a pleasure to work with you.

I am an enthusiastic law graduate turned real estate agent, wife to a sailor, mother of a creative six year old daughter (and three majestic cats), tree lover, artist and poet. I have a passion for art, history, and mindfulness.

Here on the blog you will find my journal, poems, and real estate musings. Writing is a joy for me – I hope it shows. I am glad you are here.

Here is a little bit of my story…

I grew up in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, in the State of Paraná, Brazil, and loved every minute of it. My family is fun, kind, and we spent a lot of time together. I feel so grateful for all the wonderful memories and their support, and I know that I am a strong person because of how I was raised. I have deep roots with my family and friends back home, but now I live in a beautiful land, far, far away – and I am growing strong roots of my own.

I graduated Law School in Brazil in 2006, but soon after moved across the world with a few of my belongings, and a heart full of hope and enthusiasm. Why? During my fourth year of Law I decided to take a break and experience life differently. I ended up in the beautiful Door County Peninsula, Wisconsin, arriving during a snowstorm, to work at the Piggly Wiggly in Sister Bay. Needless to say, I fell in love. I fell in love with the way life feels here, with the community, with the creative vibe, with the change of the seasons, with the Great Lakes, and with a very handsome local… So I returned home to graduate college, and started planning my comeback. After a semester studying Economics at UWGB, I made the final move to the Door County Peninsula, where a new adventure started. I married that handsome local (11 years and counting), we have an amazing six year old daughter, and a home full of life.

So here I am, fifteen years later.
And I am still in love with this place.
